Hello and Welcome!
My name is Penny Gillenwater and I am the founder and currently the single employee that makes up The Paisley Trunk. I’m just a small town girl that loves to cook and sew….therefore a lot of my products are centered around the home. The Paisley Trunk started out as a hobby and quickly became a passion and then a small business.
I currently offer Home Décor that features embroidery and applique. The designs range from kitschy to traditional; from quirky to nostalgic. Some of the products available are, but not limited to, Kitchen Towels, Decorative Throw Pillows, Pillow Bands for your existing decorative pillows, Fabric Hot Pads In several Sizes (Custom Available), and Bowl Cozies. A little about me. I grew up in a little town in extreme Southwest Virginia, Gate City to be exact. This area is rich in tradition, heritage, and family. At a young age, My Great Grandmother, Grandmother, and Mother taught me how to quilt and sew. I completed my first hand sewn quilt at the age of 10. It was a 9 square baby blanket featuring the Sunbonnet Sue pattern. The obsession with fabric, colors, and patterns grew from there and here I am 25 years later attempting to make my dream a reality.
